Biotechnology

With the social changes taking place in the Arab community in the country, especially the shift from rural life to urban life, there has been an urgent need for scientific and professional qualification that enhances the integration of youth into modern life. Based on this, the Baqa'a College launched the Bachelor's program in Biotechnology. The program aims to provide interdisciplinary scientific knowledge covering various fields of biotechnology, and it is distinguished by offering unique educational opportunities for women from the Arab community in Israel, enhancing their participation in this evolving field.

  1. Preparing graduates with advanced scientific skills in various fields of biotechnology, such as medicine, agriculture, and environmental and food industries.

  2. Encouraging entrepreneurship by training students to establish small projects in the field of biotechnology.

  3. Developing traditional industries such as food factories by introducing innovative biotechnological techniques.

  4. Empowering Arab women to integrate into the fields of science and biotechnology and increasing their participation in this sector.

  5. Providing attractive educational pathways that open broad horizons for Arab youth to integrate into the labor market in a stable manner.

The program offers three main specializations in biotechnology, allowing students to specialize in various fields that meet the needs of the job market:

  1. Pharmaceutical Biotechnology: Focus on the use of biotechnology techniques in the production of medicines and medical treatments.

  2. Environmental Biotechnology: Study of biotechnology applications to improve and protect the environment through techniques such as water and air treatment.

  3. Food Biotechnology: Improving and developing food production techniques using biotechnological methods to increase efficiency and quality.

The field of biotechnology is one of the most important and rapidly developing fields globally, encompassing various scientific applications such as medicine, pharmacy, agriculture, food industry, cosmetics, and environmental quality. The program aims to prepare graduates with scientific and practical skills that enable them to:
